Monday Poem

Contingent

I wonder if I exist
the world’s replete it’s
full of stuff but where does I fit in
where to set the sheath of skin
at what point do I resist
absolute belonging and say
I am

which can only be true
in a vacuum, a noplace
where nothing is contingent
