Started watching the video, then stopped since it's an hour long and looked it up on wiki instead. Just wanted to say the movie's title merely seeks the prestige of taboo-breaking, without actually breaking any. At least I am aware of no "taboo" that makes the drug war uncriticizeable. It's just not much of a vote winner, even with marijuana. There are real taboos out there - including a few that are tabooed for good reasons - but this really isn't one. In most university or media circles, it's more like the opposite.

Recent polls show marijuana legalization with over 50% support nationally in the US, so it could be a vote winner, at least in some places. And it seems to me there is still a strong reluctance to discuss liberalizing drug policy among most current politicians, so I think the movie's title is appropriate.
"I couldn't tear myself
away from 3 Quarks Daily, to the point of neglecting my work. Congratulations on
this superb site."—Steven
Pinker, Johnstone Professor of Psychology, Harvard University.
"I have placed 3 Quarks Daily at the head of my list of web bookmarks."—Richard
Dawkins, Charles Simonyi Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University.
"Just wanted you to know I’m one of many who reads and enjoys 3 Quarks....almost daily."—David Byrne, musician, former lead-singer of the Talking Heads, artist, intellectual.
