Seeing Mira Nair's interview snippets, it seems that the movie will be like the book!
(i have not seen the movie, but needless to say, I was not bowled over by the book).

Yes, Mohsin Hamid's The Reluctant Fundamentalist failed to impress.
Few years back, a Pakistani friend sent me DVD of a film titled "Daira" which was based on Hamid's earlier novel "Moth Flame". Against a backdrop of Lahore, Hamid portrayed a young man's loss of job, addiction to drugs, and adulterous affair with his best friend's wife. Shot with handheld camera, it was not a commercial production. Very choppy.

Correction:
The film, Daira, was based on Mohsin Hamid's "Moth Smoke".
