Just to let you know that the link to this story firstly, doesn't show up on the page, then secondly, when I clicked the author's name to go to the article, a threat notice showed up of a virus attached to the link when it opened. Thought you might like to know. Still the best website with the most astute and interesting cornicopea of articles and viewpoints! Thanks for doing what you do - I'm sure your many thousands of admirers appreciate your work, I do!

The links worked fine for me. What I found strange was that, to my ear, the Sikh being interviewed was obviously an American Caucasian convert to the faith rather than an ethnic sub-continental Sikh who had immigrated to the US. Not quite sure how his experience could be presumed to be consistent with someone with different skin and accent characteristics.

Hi Carlos,

I am the person they interviewed. I am not a convert to the faith but a person whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from India in the 1970s. I was raised in the U.S., so I speak with an American accent.

Thanks, Amardeep, for dropping by and reminding us that the world is sometimes more complex than our "obvious" categories might suggest!
