Tuesday Poem
Brotherhood: Homage to Claudius Ptolemy by Octavio Paz
I am a man: little do I last
and the night is enormous.
But I look up:
the stars write.
Unknowing I understand:
I too am written,
and at this very moment
someone spells me out.

A tremendous poetical compression which reminds me of lines from a poem by Lois Ginsburg (father of Allen), paraphrasing:
We are bigger than the biggest star, because we know how small we are.
